This past December, I had the incredible honor of capturing one of my best friend’s proposal at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. This day meant so much to me for several reasons. Not only was one of my dearest friends getting engaged but her (now) fiance asked me to capture that moment.

The whole drive there I was filled with so many emotions.

I thought back on the days in college as roommates we cried over boys who broke our heart, prayed for the man who would one day be our husband and planned both of our weddings through a Pinterest board.

We talked about the day where this would be reality and prayed so deeply that both of us would wait for the man who would sweep us up off our feet. And in the mean time, rest in the goodness of who Jesus is, grow closer to Him and know that even without a boyfriend or husband, Jesus is enough. 

The day Konner told me about Reid I knew it was end game and THEY WEREN’T EVEN DATING YET. That’s so crazy. Once they began dating, it was so clear to everyone that they belonged together. They love each other so well. They love people so well. Most importantly, they love Jesus so well. ⠀

The moments leading up to the proposal were filled with so many nerves. I had to make sure she couldn’t see me so the surprise would not be ruined. To ensure the plan went smoothly, I made friends with a couple standing by so I would blend in.

I knew it was the moment of the hour when I heard Konner’s very distinctive and joyful laugh. Next thing I knew, in front of the lit up mansion and Christmas-like tree, they were engaged and people were cheering.

This is a day I will not forget.
